About

Lee Taylor’s work in glass synthesizes form, color, and texture in unique and imaginative ways. Each piece is thoughtfully planned, and as it takes shape, it evolves into its own unique dimensions. The results of this intuitive process are individual works of glass art that are carefully crafted as a fluid part of their intended environment.

Lee Taylor draws texture and color from long summer days riding the waves, from the feeling of walking in the sand, and from watching the sun set on the St. Johns River from a sailboat. She is inspired by Andy Goldsworthy, English furniture, Parisian architecture, vintage clothing, Roman cathedrals, the Australian outback, Milon Townsend, high fashion, Frank Lloyd Wright, and dark chocolate. She uses natural and earthy materials in her working process, as well as in the final products.

Lee Taylor spent four years refining her technique at Pearl River Glass Studio in Jackson, Mississippi. There she learned stained glass, cast glass, leaded glass, copper foil, glass painting, and acid etching, as well as all the ins and outs of client relationships, business practices, galleries, shows, and events. During that time, she participated in shows with Pearl River and other Mississippi galleries. Lee Taylor is still represented by Jackson Street Gallery in nearby Madison, Mississippi.

Since her time at Pearl River, she has done exclusive privately commissioned work, and is pleased to now offer her work to the public through Lee Taylor Design.
